An ex-convict, who was sentenced to prison on three separate occasions for three different criminal offences shares that his experience was all about daily survival, reflecting on choices made and keeping out of trouble.

He shares his experiences of living behind bars, however, for security purposes, we gave him the name Dane. He spent six months in prison at the St. Catherine Adult Correctional Centre, then three years at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre. He later returned to that same facility to serve a five-year sentence. In Dane’s words …”yaaah fi bad fi survive physically and verbally”.

While marijuana is considered contraband in lockups, Dane admits inmates including himself had access to it. He is proposing an amendment to the rules. More details in this report: https://youtu.be/UsH9_JBN__I
