EPOC Expresses Concern for Jamaica’s Vulnerable Groups

Despite the official’s confidence in the country’s steady economic growth, there are still concerns for the country’s most vulnerable groups.

“There has to be a consideration for our vulnerable groups in society” That is according to the Chairman of the Economic Program Oversight Committee (EPOC) Chairman Keith Duncan. He was speaking at the economic programme oversight committee quarterly press briefing, where he lauded the government’s efforts to remain on a sustainable path, adding implementations have already begun.

Duncan says, the minister of finance has tabled the pending back-to-school increased allocations for path and non-path beneficiaries; an increased allocation on behalf of vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, he expresses concern for the country’s economic growth, adding the country is already on a solid path to achieving the projected debt-to-GDP target.
