In light of the ongoing violence in Central Kingston, PNP Caretaker Imani Duncan-Price and Senator Mathew Samuda erupted in a heated exchange on social media. In a tweet on Thursday, December 30, 2021, Duncan-Price made a plea to the government to intervene in the crime situation. Samuda then called out Duncan-Price’s hypocrisy in re-tweet.
Speaking with CVM Live Thursday, Duncan-Price called for a Zone Of Special Operation (ZOSO). She also made the call for greater interest in the communities.
However, Minister without portfolio in the Security Ministry Mathew Samuda, suggested Duncan-Price’s tweet may be hypocritical, alluding to the fact that earlier this year she was against the security measures implemented by the government.
He further stated that the government is using all the necessary tools to combat crime while adding no child and family deserves to be facing such horrific things.
