The Manchester police are appealing to business operators to exercise due diligence in their efforts to hire new employees for the holiday season. This warning follows a spate of robberies across the country. The police believe several of the incidents were orchestrated from within the businesses.

Head of the Manchester Police Superintendent Shane McCalla is advising business operators to exercise due diligence when employing persons, especially during the Christmas season.

This after Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced on Monday, that criminal gangs are scheming to rob supermarkets and other businesses during the holidays. He says it is significant for businesses to invest in reputable private security to assist with the transportation of large sums of cash from their establishments to the bank.
