For several months water has been a scarce commodity in the Drapers community in Portland. Residents tell Cvm Live the issue has worsened since roadworks started in the community recently. Annette Francis explained to our news team that the workmen have disrupted operations of the main power station which supplies the Drapers community, Tina Hill, and Level Heights among other areas.

This resident says she has been forced to source water from places that are a considerable distance away. She notes efforts have been made to engage the person spearheading the road work, however they have been unsuccessful. According to another resident, it has been a long time since a political representative visited the community to see for themselves the difficulties being experienced.
