There is a call for stiffer penalties to be meted out to reckless motorists and gunmen. The Clinical Coordinator for the Western Regional Health Authority says these individuals are putting a strain on hospital resources. 

The Clinical Coordinator details statistics from August to September 2021 and the same period in 2022, which show an increase- particularly in male gunshot and motor vehicle injuries at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. While noting the hefty cost of treating these trauma cases, he is making a special appeal to reckless motorists and those who resort to gun violence. Even as the government continues to tackle lawlessness, Dr. Fray believes stiffer penalties would be a deterrent. Watch the report:
