DAY 3: More Teachers Stage Sit In

The continued rejection by teachers of the current wage offer has strengthened. Teacher protests that began Monday in schools across the island are expanding with others now joining the call for the revision of their salary. Several school sessions are now being disrupted of the teachers’ actions.

Teachers at Belair say they are overworked and underpaid and their pay should not be determined by an appraisal that does not correlate with their teaching duties. Meanwhile, the Principal of May Day High School, Standford Davis said Tuesday was scheduled for Parents’ Consultation Day however only 13 teachers were present.
