Vendors and business owners at the Cross Roads Market are airing their frustration with what they describe as poor management and deplorable working condition left by the authorities responsible for maintaining the market.
According to them, they’re exposed to criminal violence, crime, and loss. Less than a month ago CVM Live visited the market where several business operators and vendors were robbed.
This vendor Fae Henry says the current manager of the market has neither been effective nor proactive in the governance of the facility. She says the vendors need better representation. One business owner who did not want to appear on camera says the facility has been in a deplorable state for a long time and its unreasonable for the business operators to be paying fees yet constantly exposed to criminals.
CVM Live has made several attempts to contact the Kingston & St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) for a comment however our calls went unanswered. The vendors and business owners are appealing to the authorities for assistance.
