Crime Sparks Fear Among Schools in St. Catherine

Some schools in St Catherine have been seeing a low turnout of students and teachers following the recent flare-up of crime and violence. CVM LIVE visited the old capital again on Thursday amid the uptick in crime and violence in.

The principal of the Spanish Town High School, Ventley Brown says the school was impacted by the recent flare-up in crimes. He notes causes for their absence have been due to tensions rising in the volatile communities in which some students reside. Mr. Brown says the school has arrangements for students taking exit exams.

Meanwhile, the Principal of Spanish Town Primary, Roogae Kirlew says his school also saw a decline in attendance. Arrangements were also made to accommodate students sitting in end-of-year examinations. More details in this report:
