Taxi and bus operators in St. Ann North Western have urged Member of Parliament Krystal Lee to fix the road or risk not being re-elected. The transport operators who traverse the Brown’s Town to Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay routes protested for a second day on Tuesday morning for better road conditions.

On Monday, they said poor road infrastructure is a battle they have been fighting for years. One taxi operator Lemar Clarke tells CVM LIVE his livelihood is heavily dependent on the condition of the road. He is urging the MP to play her part in making it possible for the operators to earn their living.

MP Lee engaged the taxi and bus operators during a meeting on Tuesday, explaining the delay in redoing the road is subsequent to other projects that are being completed. She notes reconstructing the road was a promise that she intends to keep. However, she did not confirm when any work will begin.
