The effectiveness of the Broadcasting Commission’s ban on music-promoting scamming, drug use, and other illegal activities is being questioned by some Jamaicans.
He also shares the belief that the restriction could create a loss of dancehall’s entertainment value. Others are of the view that the artistes only sing about what they can relate to; and in this case, reality and entertainment go hand in hand.
They fear the ban will not prevent citizens from listening to such music, noting the continued demand.
