Members of the public are calling for the Government and Opposition to unite in handling matters related to corruption. This follows the Prime Minister’s remarks on Sunday  about the Government not intervening in investigations related to Ruel Reid and his four co-accused.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government must stand strong against corruption, malfeasance and misappropriation of public resources.

However, citizens believe that every sector must be investigated and corruption scandals must be revisited. They believe if this is done, the relevant persons should also be held accountable.

One citizen shared that corruption can only be eliminated of both parties are willing to work together and fight ways to end corruption. To them, this means refusing to cover up illegal acts carried out by members of their parties.

Another citizen says once political representatives realise that they are beyond the law, they will continue to foster corrupt practices which will later affect public confidence in these parties.

They believe it is time to address the issue of corruption with a united effort.
