The Charles Gordon Market in St. James was paid a visit by the Minister of Local Government Desmond McKenzie to see phased renovations following complaints by the vendors in 2022.

Phase one is nearing completion, however, the minister is appealing to vendors not to rush the process. Minister McKenzie on Thursday visited The Charles Gordon  Market in St. James to examine the latest developments in the space. The Minister indicates he is pleased so far with the progress, noting the market is being renovated in phases.

Minister McKenzie notes the current challenge to the work due to vendors in the space, despite the very vendors initially pleading with the authorities for better conditions in the market. He says the refurbishing of the market will take some time adding vendors need to exercise patience. Watch the report for more details:
