Cell site information disclosed in court today suggested that the alleged leader of the one don Klansman Gang, Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan and another defendant Jason Brown, alias Citypuss, made and received several calls while behind bars from mobile phones. On Friday, a police witness completed the analysis of call data records extracted from three phones used by a former gang member turned state witness, to secretly record conversations he had with some of the 33-defendants in the One Don, Klansman Gang Trial. Four different numbers have been attributed to the alleged leader Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan whose name was stored as teacher.
For the period of January to August 2019, cellphone signals were picked up from these four numbers by way of cell tower triangulation, at the central exchange, North Street and Harbour Street cell sites all in down town, Kingston. The police witness says the mobile user could be located in a general coverage area.
However, using Google earth images he indicates all these cell towers are in range with the Central Police lock up, making it a possible location of the mobile user. At the time, Bryan was in custody at that same lock up. For Jason Brown, the defendant identified as Citypuss, four numbers attributed to him saw signals transmitted also from three cell sites, Trench Town, Industrial Terrace and East Avenue Towers. All in range with the horizon remand center, where brown was being housed at the time. Brown was convicted in 2012 for a murder committed in 2005.
Meanwhile during cross examination, lead Attorney Lloyd McFarlane who represents Bryan, questioned the witness, why a document submitted prior only has two numbers attributed to Bryan. He also highlighted that the alias Blackman was on the document instead of teacher. The police witness was quick in explaining that there was a preliminary schedule generated and a number wasn’t properly attributed. McFarlane charged in, saying that it is unsafe for the court to rely on the attributions since they are inconsistent at different points in time. To which the witness hastily disagreed, saying he stands by the information presented.
The trial will resume, Monday morning at 10.
