On the heels of the rollout of the COVID-19 fighting vaccines in the Caribbean, Caribbean Community (CARICOM) leader and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Rowley expressed gratitude to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Rowley however notes concerns surrounding richer countries allegedly hoarding the vaccines and price gouging. The CARICOM leader joined the discussion Thursday during a W.H.O media briefing surrounding the vaccine dissemination and developments.

He’s lobbying for the WHO to commit to ensuring equity across the board with information and assistance. Dr. Rowley also says the WHO’s work is far from over. He’s supporting the push for experts to better understand the virus’ biology.

Meanwhile, WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros  Ghebreyesus says vaccine equity will be the main agenda to be launched at the G-7  summit on Saturday.
