Grants totaling $3.6 billion dollars have been transferred to persons applying for assistance under the government’s COVID-19 Allocation of Resources for Employees (CARE) Programme.

This was disclosed during Sunday’s national COVID-19 response digital press conference, held at the office of the Prime Minister.

Robian Williams has that report:

Dr. Nigel Clarke gave an update on the government’s social and economic support program amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of the 375,000 persons deemed eligible for compassionate grants, 337,000 transfers have already been made.

Also, 12,000 of the 30,000 people qualifying for the set cash programme have been processed.
