CAPRI Reviews Disbursement of COVID-19 Funds

The  Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) with the support of the International Budget Partnership  (IBP) on Wednesday, February 16, discussed findings from the open budget survey, that assessed the government’s handling of public resources in response to the pandemic. 

Finance Minister, Dr Nigel Clarke says the COVID-19 crisis created a new class of vulnerable in Jamaica. 

According to the minister, a COVID-19 Economic Task Force recommended the government accelerate a feasibility study on unemployment insurance. 

Jamaica is experiencing a very strong recovery ahead of neighbouring countries.
