One stakeholder representing people with special needs is appealing to the government to make adjustments to the new Road Traffic Act to cater to those with physical challenges. He says the community is often overlooked when major changes to laws are made. Project manager for the foundation for the disabled Cleon Porter tells CVM LIVE the new road traffic act is inconclusive to persons living with disabilities.

He notes disabled persons also use the roads and not enough mechanisms were implemented to begin to ameliorate the lives of the disabled community.

Porter also highlighted a section of the road traffic act that indicates certain prohibitions for parking in handicapped spaces. He notes persons have often disregarded the spaces provided. More details below:
