The shortage of rental books in schools has been an issue for teachers and principals at various institutions. Contracts for primary schools have been approved by the Cabinet, under the Ministry of Education’s Primary Textbook Programme, for the distribution of books. The cabinet recently approved several contracts, a hand full of which will benefit educational institutions.

Speaking at the recent post-cabinet media briefing, Minister, with responsibility for Information Robert Morgan, announced an award of contract by the National Education Trust for the construction of a classroom at the Bridgeport High School in St. Catherine. The contract was also awarded for the procurement and distribution of language arts books for grades 4 to 6. Watch the report:
