Cabbies Across the Island Squeal Over New RTA

Scores of taxi operators across the country have opted to strike amid the government’s revision of the regulations and penalties for the Road Traffic Act (RTA).

Commuters in St James, St Ann, and Manchester were among the many parishes that were left stranded hope while operators strike on Monday. In the western region, operators issued an appeal to the government and the taxi associations to promptly address their concerns. They say they are firm in their decision to continue protest actions until the regulations are revised. One frustrated operator says it is paramount for taxi operators to be involved in the government’s decision-making. Watch the report below:
