The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector is expecting to diversify its services by focusing on deepening its talent pool and strengthening the skills development framework that supports the Global Services Sector (GSS).

As the fastest growing economic sector in Jamaica, the BPO industry provides thousands of jobs to Jamaicans islandwide. Earlier at the Outsource to Jamaica Forum, the President of the Global Service’s Association of Jamaica, Gloria Henry, said opportunities in the higher value segment of the outsourcing sector are largely untapped. As a result of this, the sector is currently focusing on providing opportunities for diversification.

Henry said they are diversifying the portfolio to focus on other areas that use talent within these higher-value services. The Global Services of Jamaica aims to encourage and inspire foreign and local companies as well as entrepreneurs, to invest in Jamaica, Jamaican businesses, and the BPO industry.
