In a bid to fully revive Jamaica’s Tourism Sector, a Beach Development Project has been launched in Alligator Pond, Manchester recently. The development project is spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF).

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says this initiative will not only bolster the tourism product in the parish but also provide employment for locals. Minister Bartlett also notes while the Ministry aims to attract tourists, they will ensure to provide the necessary infrastructure to facilitate fisherfolk.

The Minister says the initiative will be an income generator for entrepreneurs and to enable fisherfolk in the area o see better results as it relates to quality of their catches and the equipment they may need.

Meanwhile, residents of Alligator Pond say they are elated and are looking forward to the completion of this project.
