As Jamaica continues to welcome tourists amid the coronavirus pandemic the Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett says his ministry is committed to ensuring that tourism entities are COVID-19 compliant.

Bartlett was speaking at a tour of Westmoreland and Hanover on Tuesday, he says the majority of the locations he visited were exercising the recommended protocols.

He says as Jamaica gets on the road to economic recovery, tourism will be of great importance in the process.

Acknowledging the concerns of many Jamaicans with the reopening of the once-booming industry, Bartlett says the health security of Jamaicans is at the forefront of the phased reopening.

Since the reopening of the Tourism Industry, Jamaica has recorded more than two hundred imported cases of the Coronavirus, COVID-19.
