The Integrity Commission has obtained a court order requiring Barita Investments Limited to comply with their request for financial data on 151 current and former public officials. First Global Bank, another entity involved, has already complied with the request. The commission sought court intervention in November 2021 after both FGB and Barita initially refused to comply with a June 2021 request, citing concerns about legality and potential privacy breaches. The list of individuals includes politicians and other members of public entities. In July of last year, the Integrity Commission disclosed that six parliamentarians and 28 other public officials were under investigation for illicit enrichment. Despite repeated calls from both the opposition and the government to reveal the identities of those currently under investigation, none of the accused have been named, arrested, or charged.
