Taxi operators say they are seeing signs the New Road Traffic Act may force many to leave the sector, as they admit to being concerned. Reports are that scores of taxi operators have left the profession and the island since November 14. 2022 – taxi operator’s national strike.

Communications Director of the One Voice Transportation Group, Oscar Finniken describes the system as biased against taxi operators adding that the new regulations threaten both commuters and motorists. Finniken suggests the Act is more about gaining revenue and targeting taxi operators than it is about regulating order.  Watch the report below:
