9 billion Jamaican dollars. That’s the estimated street value of the cocaine that was discovered aboard a Colombian cargo vessel found in Jamaican waters. The Jamaica Defence Force’s (JDF) Maritime Air and Cyber Command (MACC) have claimed the successful interdiction of the vessel. The preliminary examination of the cargo uncovered fifty (50) bags containing 1250 packages with the substance weighing 1250 kg or 2756 lbs, with an estimated street value of approximately 80 million US dollars. So far no arrests have been made in connection with the find.
