$2 Million Dollars Donated to Medical Students

The first donation from the Mansukhani Foundation saw two medical students receiving 2 million dollars in Scholarships, at Jamaica House. The Foundation promises to continue to help Jamaicans acquire proper funding for their education.

Two struggling medical sciences students were graced with scholarships amounting to 2 million dollars, as an investment in their education. Managing Director for the Appliance and Manufacturing company Black Point, Gul Mansukhani says the funds were donated through a foundation he started on behalf of his only son, who recently passed. 

Gaviel Gordon, one of the two recipients details her experience, struggling with sourcing funds for the hefty fees for the medical program, which is quoted in us dollars. She received 1.5 million of the 2 million dollars that were donated. Meanwhile, the donation was supported by a member of Parliament for east rural St. Andrew, Juliet Holness. She laments Gordon’s misfortune, adding she frequently receives similar stories from other struggling tertiary students. Mrs Holness is also encouraging Jamaicans to pay it forward, so other Jamaicans can have the benefit of higher education.
