The campaign trail continues, this time the environment is in focus and the now common phrase “Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica”.

Representatives from the Jamaica Environment Trust were out earlier to educate customers at the Megamart outlet in Waterloo, Kingston.

Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica remains the slogan to remind citizens to be careful of how they treat the environment. The move by the government to ban single use plastics along with styrofoam is gradually being accepted by many, who now see the need for this action that was taken.

Chief Executive Officer at the Jamaica Environment Trust Suzanne Stanley and her team are now encouraging more and more citizens to learn more about the alternatives that exist such as  re-usable straws, reusable bags and containers.

The ban on single use plastics which was put in place by the government along with support from various local groups is in line with the global thrust to protect the environment.
