The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information has announced dates for the 2020 Grade Six Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations.

During a media briefing at the Ministry’s offices in Kingston on February 13, Minister with responsibility for Education, Hon. Karl Samuda, said the examinations, which are to be held over five days, get underway with the Abilities Test on Tuesday, February 25.

Mr. Samuda said the Performance Task assessments for Language Arts will be held on Thursday, March 19, and Mathematics on Friday, March 20.

He advised that the examinations will conclude with the Curriculum-based tests for Language Arts and Science on Thursday, April 23, and Mathematics and Social Studies on Friday, April 24.

The Minister further indicated that timetables and verification lists have been distributed to all primary schools. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Samuda said the training of Presiding Examiners and Invigilators, which commenced on February 3 across the Ministry’s six Regions, is slated for completion on February 21.

“We wish the students well in the second sitting of PEP,” the Minister said, while expressing confidence in the ability of the students to do well.
