Vision 2030 Jamaica – national development plan, the country’s first long-term strategic development plan, provides a comprehensive framework in which the economic, social, environmental and governance aspects of national development are integrated. The plan, which was approved in Parliamentin 2009, is intended to put Jamaica in a position to achieve developed country status by 2030.
With that target line a decade away, many of the nation’s children and youth will be adults by the time it is achieved and their perspective on vision 2030 was actively sought during its development.
In this discussion, we explore the youth perspective on vision 2030, with guests Peisha Bryan-Lee Head Of The Vision 2030 secretariat at the PIOJ, Jaevion Nelson, Human Rights Advocate and Montel Hill Youth Parliamentarian.
