Addressing The Right Of Consent For Data Collection In Jamaica

As legislators work to introduce a National Identification System, what assurances can data collecting organisations make towards the citizens of Jamaica regarding the protection of their private information?

Globally during the past year, there have been numerous reports of customer data being compromised or misused and questions are being raised as to how the new data protection act will adequately address the deep concerns of privacy.

To discuss these 21st-century issues we are joined by Shadow Minister of Information and Technology Julian Robinson and lawyer and UWI lecturer in International Economic Law and Property Law Andre Sheckleford.
