28 Year-Old St. Thomas Man Dies in Bike Crash

A St. Thomas community is in mourning following the death of a man in a bike crash.

28-year-old Ian Chase Bentley otherwise called Chase met his demise in a bike crash along New Road in the Cedar Valley community in St. Thomas.

Reports are that he was in a bike race with a friend and lost control of the bike, thrown into nearby bushes. He sustained massive head injuries and died on the spot.

Our news team visited the Cedar Valley community Thursday where residents who were close with Bentley shared their fondest memories.

His aunt described him as a loving individual. Another resident adds this has plunged the community into mourning as they try to come to terms with the tragic reality.
