Newly elected president of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Richard Pandohie, has expressed gratitude for the work done by his predecessor, Metry Seaga.  He says he will continue building on the work of the outgoing president and indicated his vision for the association.

One of these, is to reduce the cost of doing business in Jamaica.  These costs result from having so many complex bureaucratic arrangements.

He is suggesting that the government should consider offering tax incentives for companies to involve themselves in research and development as one way to improve the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
