The National Commerical Bank (NCB) Foundation has awarded 28 scholarships this year.
This was announced recently at a ceremony where the 28 recipients were present.
Fourteen of that number are from tertiary institutions and the others are students who are pursuing non-traditional fields of study.
The Chairman of the NCB Foundation, Thalia Lyn says the awardees were digitally aware and knowledgeable of what career paths they wanted to choose.
She adds that the NCB Foundation will continue to provide financial support in helping students realise their dreams and achieve their goals.
The NCB Foundation provides scholarships and grants to students on a yearly basis. The scholarships are available to students pursuing tertiary education and the recipients must be first year entrants. The National Champion will receive six hundred thousand dollars throughout the course of their study, while the parish champion will receive three hundred thousand dollars.
For the non traditional programmes, the recipients who must also be first year entrants will receive two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
The non traditional programmes included: animation, aviation, computer science, engineering, logistics and supply chain management, teaching degrees specializing in Mathematics and Science for the CSEC and CAPE levels, Fashion Designing and Fine Arts.
