The Island Traffic Authority says it will be integrating more technologies in its operation to effectively carry out its mandate.
Tasked with the responsibility of administering the Road Traffic Act, the Traffic Authority says it will be using geo-fencing to monitor vehicle fitness across the island.
Acting director of the Island Traffic Authority, Donald Henry notes that while he is not aware of any reported case of corruption at the authority, geo-fencing will help to eliminate perceived cases.
Mr. Henry further disclosed that the Island Traffic Authority plans to go paperless while adding that once motorists do their motor vehicle fitness, their information is updated in real-time to Tax Administration Jamaica.
