The Harmons Community in Manchester is seeking compensation from Jamalco for the excessive dust and noise nuisance which they have been experiencing for several years.

The residents complain that several of them have developed respiratory and other health issues because of the dust and the noise coming from the bauxite refinery.

For it’s part, Jamalco says the law requires them to compensate residents who live within 300 feet of its mining operations, but for years they have been offering relief to persons as much as 600 feet away.  They are requesting all persons who are being affected to contact their office so they can have further discussions.
