Dr. Taneisha Edwards is a Scientist, Educator, award-winning Researcher who has presented her scientific research at global conferences among top scientists in France, Austria, China, Brazil, South Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada. Dr. Edwards is an entrepreneur, mom, wife, coach, and strategic investor. She currently lectures at the Top University in the Caribbean but still finds the time to pursue entrepreneurship to make an impact, leave a legacy but more importantly to fulfill a greater purpose of going back and showing the way much like Harriet Tubman. 

Before any of these accolades and accomplishments she was just a daughter to a teen mom navigating the difficulties of growing up in a Jamaican inner city. She was told by a teacher in high school that “people from your community do not make anything of themselves, apart from the 10-second headline in the news, bad news that is”. That was an evil seed to be planted in the mind, but Taneisha recognized and denounced it immediately. This is when Taneisha knew she not only had to make it at whatever she did, but she had to be less consumed with herself and go back to help others.

According to Dr. Taneisha “It can feel safe to hide in your success, it is easy to go with the flow, chin down, work hard, be humble, hide origins and struggle when the plates and pocket are full and comfortable. But how will those behind you know to hang on.” Therefore, she chooses to deny the safe and convenient for the risky, conscientious, and rewarding like Nanny of the Maroons who opposed the convenient self-serving treaties of the British with the Maroons, taking the side of liberating all rather than just herself. She is putting herself out there for all those who need entrepreneurial education.
