Dancehall artiste Tamo J was recently admitted to the St. Andrew Memorial hospital in Kingston with severe joint pains and headaches after his sickle cell condition was aggravated. He recalls his experience stating that he had to visit the hospital at 3 a.m on Wednesday where he was treated and released several hours later. Several of his colleagues also dropped by the hospital to check on him. Tamo J theorized that it was his constant promotion of his new single ‘Level Up’ that could have aggravated his sickle cell condition.

The artiste said that incident serves as a reminder that focusing on his health is equally important has his career, particularly because he has the sickle cell trait which is triggered due to lack of sleep and rest. Despite his health challenges Tamo J is pleased with the promotion results of his latest single.
