June 26 was recognized as International Day Against Drug Abuse. With the increase in the use of magic mushrooms, more popularly known as “shrooms” among youth in Jamaica, the National Council on Drug Abuse is encouraging the nation to be aware of it. Research Analyst for the National Council on Drug Abuse (NCDA) Uki Atkinson says substances like magic mushrooms are being marketed by many as wellness-based products that could be used to help with issues such as anxiety and depression. She joined us on Sunrise shed light on the issue.
