As a woman in the dancehall industry, Macka Diamond has had a long and successful career. Growing up, music was an integral part of her life, with her father, Phillip Munroe, a prominent record producer in the Reggae and Dancehall scene. Influenced by icons like Sister Nancy, Lady G, and Lady Ann, she started her musical journey under the moniker ‘Lady Mackerel.’ However, it was not until 2003 that she rebranded herself as ‘Macka Diamond’, a name that would soon become synonymous with Dancehall’s greatness. Macka Diamond’s enduring career, spanning over three decades, is a testament to her unwavering work ethic. In addition to her music, she is a prolific author, with four books to her name, including the best-selling ‘Bun Him!!!,’ showcasing her multi-talented artistry.
