Montego Bay based designer and artist Sharon Cunningham who is well known for her design label, Memadesigned, has established herself in the Jamaican Art Scene with her strong brushstrokes and unapologetic use of colour. Her innovative interpretations of floral scenes and her utilization of colour, ends with a waltz of flowers across her finished canvas.
Sharon has a particular love of abstraction as with this form she has the freedom to go where the piece leads her. Her signature style is quite evident in her pieces and is instantly recognizable. Her range is vast and is evident in her ability to create a piece that works within the fixed environment of a home. Customized colour, character and style have made her an artist in demand with many of her commissions coming from clients both in Jamaica and abroad.
Sharon’s pieces are found throughout Europe and have created quite a buzz amongst collectors.
