The Ministry of Education acted quickly in fostering assistance to over forty children who were displaced by fire at the Jamaica National Children’s Home in Papine, St Andrew late last week.

Minister with responsibility for Education, Youth and Information, Karl Samuda sought to encourage the wards while acknowledging their bravery in the face of danger. The Child Protection and Family Services Agency have been providing psychological support to the wards and caregivers who suffered trauma as a result of the blaze.

Samuda gave reassurance to the children and staff of the Government’s commitment to rebuild the home in the shortest possible time.
