The 150 million dollars that was allocated in 2020 due to damages along sections of the Gordon Town main road has paid off. Residents and government stakeholders were present on Friday, October 29, for the opening of the newly constructed road.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Juliet Holness sought to reassure residents of other areas are not forgotten and the Government is working assiduously to have work started in their area. She noted that priority is given to areas that a number of motorists and persons need to use. MP Holness says it is important that the Gordon Town roadway got fixed this as she notes the breakaway affected all persons who traversed the area.

In the meantime, she says funds have been requested to at least have begin work in other areas. She added that if there is anything residents in Craig Hill Road can do to help with the start of work on the road they should as the road is now almost down to a single lane.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness while addressing residents, noted the importance of having contractors to execute major projects of this magnitude, which he says is a major handicap that faces the country.
